Just My Style: a trim box from 1912, pressed onto today

Somewhere in your house there is probably a drawer of half-used stickers, loose beads and one very special glitter pen. That drawer is exactly who we design for. Just My Style is the tween line of Horizon Group USA, and our whole job is turning that drawer of maybes into something a kid actually wears, carries or keeps on a nightstand. Here is how a company that started with ribbon ended up here.

  1. 1912

Ribbon, braid and a good eye

Horizon Group USA opened its doors as a supplier of decorative trim. Think of the edging on a pillow or the braid around a hat brim: small details that made plain things feel finished. That habit of noticing the last little touch never left us.

  2. The start

    From trim to kits

Over the years, the trim business turned toward the people doing the decorating. Instead of selling the edging alone, the company began packing everything a project needs into one box, so a family could open it at the kitchen table and simply begin.

  3. Growing up

A shelf for every kind of maker

The kit lineup kept stretching: STEM activities for curious tinkerers, classic crafts for rainy afternoons, jewelry kits for kids who like to wear what they make. Today Horizon Group USA designs more than 5,000 products for kids of all ages.

  4. Just My Style

A line that asks “what’s yours?”

Tweens told us, loudly, that they wanted crafts that felt like them and not like a school assignment. Just My Style became the personal-style corner of the family: alphabet beads, tie-dye, glitter perfume, locked diaries and sticker books meant to be customized until no two look alike.

  5. Today

    Four shelves and counting

Our kits now sit on four shelves: jewelry making, personalized accessories, DIY glam and paper crafting. Each one starts from the same test: can a kid finish it and say, “I made that, and it looks like me”?

We will keep making kits that hand the final choice to the kid holding them — because figuring out what you like is how you figure out who you are.
The Just My Style team
  • Room to wander off the pageOur instructions are a starting line, not a fence. Every kit carries enough extra beads, stickers or colors that a confident maker can ditch the diagram and invent something we never pictured.
  • Grown-ups invited, not requiredWe want parents and kids at the same table, swapping beads and opinions. Our mission is to inspire both to engage with their creativity as a way to grow and learn about themselves, and that happens best side by side.
  • Made to be used upA kit that sits sealed on a shelf has not done its job. We design for the bracelet that gets traded at recess, the tumbler that goes to practice and the diary that fills up by summer.
