Just My Style questions, peeled off one by one
Pick a tab or type a word like “tie-dye” or “letters” into the search. These are the questions parents and tweens actually send us, answered the way we would answer them across the craft table.
ChoosingMy kid is 4 — is there anything for her yet?
Yes: Make & Believe Unicorn Pop Beads are labeled 4+. The 600 beads simply snap together and pop apart, so there is no string, needle or knot involved, and the case with a handle keeps it all in one place.
ChoosingWe want to spell names. Which bead kit has the most letters?
The Alphabet Beads Bracelet Studio is the letter-heavy one, with 332 round alphabet beads, 84 alphabet cubes and 84 holographic letters. ABC Beads adds macramé and a keychain to the mix, and the Message Beads kit includes 20 ready-made phrase beads.
ChoosingShe is not into jewelry. What else do you make?
Plenty. Browse paper crafting for diaries, journals and sticker books, personalized accessories for tie-dye, a messenger bag and a tumbler, or DIY glam for nail art, roller perfume and scrunchies.
ChoosingWhich kit is best for a quiet, screen-free evening?
Journals and sketchbooks are made for that. The MoodJoy Gratitude Journal Set pairs prompts with a face sheet mask, and the Light Up Diary locks with a key for the thoughts nobody else gets to read.
InsideDo I need to buy anything extra?
Most kits include what the project needs. Tie-dye is the main exception: bring your own cotton shirts, socks or pillowcases to dye. For anything else, check the “in the box” list on each kit page before you start.
InsideCan I buy refills of beads?
We do not sell refill packs on this site. The good news is that beads and elastic from different Just My Style jewelry kits mix well, so a second kit like the Charming Bangles can freshen up a half-empty case.
InsideAre the vinyl stickers reusable?
The 1100 Vinyl Sticker Book is repositionable, so stickers can move from a water bottle to a laptop and back. The DIY Sticker Glitter Tumbler also uses reusable vinyl stickers you can rearrange whenever you like.
InsideWhat is actually in the nail art kit?
The All About Nail Art Set includes two adhesive nail sets in pink and purple, six polishes, body glitter, a nail file and nail decals, with instructions for putting looks together.
MakingHow do we keep tie-dye from dyeing the kitchen too?
Set up outside or over a plastic tablecloth, wear the gloves from the kit and dress in old clothes. Keep paper towels close. Our first tie-dye guide walks through setup, folds and rinsing, and the care tips in the box cover the first washes.
MakingThe elastic keeps slipping out of the knot. Help?
Tie a square knot (right over left, then left over right), pull each side firmly, then slide the knot inside a nearby bead. Leaving a short tail before trimming gives the knot something to hold on to. Our name bracelet guide shows each step.
MakingWho should handle the iron-on transfer?
An adult. The Mer-Mazing and Neon Tropics tie-dye kits include iron-on designs, and irons get very hot. Let the kid pick the exact spot, then a grown-up presses.
MakingHow do we start a scrapbook without freezing at page one?
Start with the easy pages — a favorite food, a best friend, a pet — and leave the cover for last. Our guide to starting an all-about-me scrapbook has page prompts, and the Ultimate Scrapbook Kit brings 40 pages plus stickers, gems and sequins.
OrdersWhere do I actually buy a kit?
Every kit page has a button that opens that kit at our partner store, where you can see today’s price and order. We do not take orders or payment on this site.
OrdersMy package is late or something is missing. Who do I contact?
The store you ordered from, through its order page — it holds your tracking, returns and replacements. Our pages on shipping and missing parts explain what to check first.
OrdersCan kits be gift-wrapped?
That is up to the store you buy from. If it offers wrapping or a card message, the option appears during its checkout; we have no way to add a bow from here.
No sticker on this sheet matches that yet. Try another word, or write to us at contact@justmystyle.org with your question and the kit name — we read every note.
