Why we made it

We built ABC Beads for the kid who wants her stuff to say something — literally. There are 216 alphabet beads plus 84 colorful alphabet charms, so names, phrases and inside jokes all fit on one wrist. Think of every letter as a tiny sticker you peel off the pile and press onto your own style, then trade with friends once the bracelet stack gets too tall to wear.

Beyond spelling, our illustrated steps walk you through beaded macramé bracelets, beaded braids, double-strand pieces and an alphabet keychain clipped on a carabiner. Elastic, satin and wax cords each give a different texture, so the same letters can look sporty one day and totally Y2K the next. Brand-new beaders can follow along page by page, while seasoned jewelry makers can jump straight in and improvise.

Great!

So fun and love all the different choices of beads, the 5 year old I got it for loves it! Unfortunately some of the strings don’t really fit through any of the beads and we’ve had to get creative, either making a pointy end with tape or cutting it super angled and then burning it a little to seal it, even so those don’t always work. The packaging is infuriating that they still have not found a better solution! Trying to get the top off and back on without beads flying everywhere is almost impossible. I ended up transferring them all to individual baggies which was very annoying.

I bought this for my granddaughter. She loved them. You can make beaded bracelets. They even have a little trinkets. You can attach to the bracelet. That are very cute. A a great gift for a 6 to 10-year-old girl.
